Literary Hub on the AI Question

If you haven’t read Is It or Isn’t It? How Generative AI is Poisoning the Literary Well For Everyone, by James Folta in Literary Hub, the link is in this sentence. He discusses the Caine Prize AI controversy

There's a sort of snake-eating-its-own-tail aspect to this brave new AI world we’re living in. Of course, there’s the Recursive Self-Improvement of it all that cedes the actual development of the product itself to other machines; I can’t really speak to that — just go listen to the recent episodes of The Ezra Klein podcast. Folta makes a convincing case for taking a dubious stance on whether AI can accurately judge if something was written by AI or not.

TL;DR: It can’t.

And it’s racist.

So… what now? Work with a human editor. Make sure your draft history is intact. Keep writing. That’s my takeaway. Good luck out there, writers. We need.
